How to read the digest

Each day publishes up to four vertical editions (AI, bio, geo, markets). Every news story carries a three-line TL;DR, a short Why it matters framing, an editor’s note on what is still uncertain, and a list of sources. Numbers in square brackets in the body link straight to the underlying source.

• BRIEF — a fast read on one development.
• DEEP — analysis with more reporting and context.
• DATA — a numbers-led item, usually with a chart-friendly figure.
• Cluster coverage — other outlets reporting the same story, so you can compare framing rather than trust a single summary.
• Confidence — high means multiple independent primary sources agree; medium means the claim is credible but thin; low means it is developing and should be treated as provisional.

Features, analysis and essays

Manual writing can appear in any of the six categories. News-based features retain the digest’s citations and evidence labels. Standalone FEATURE, ANALYSIS and ESSAY pieces use a free-form body, a named author and a publication date. Their references support factual claims and direct quotations; personal experience and interpretation belong to the author. News confidence, related-report counts and three-line summaries are not required for these pieces.

• Not a login product. There are no accounts, no paywall and no email capture.
• Not a tracking surface. No analytics scripts, no third-party embeds, no ad tech.
• Not a comment host. Story discussion happens on our Discord server; pages link out to it, embed nothing and load no Discord code.
• Not a replacement for primary reporting. News and factual claims link to the documents or people behind them.

How it is produced

A collection pipeline gathers candidate items from a fixed registry of public sources. An AI model drafts a structured summary — headlines, TL;DRs, body blocks, tags and citation links. The publishing workflow validates the news structure and sources. Morning and evening automated editions cover the original four categories; manually commissioned features and essays publish when ready, including WISDOM and SOCIETY. How it is built

A static Astro site. News ships as JSON and standalone writing as Markdown, pages are generated at build time, and the only client-side JavaScript covers the command palette, keyboard navigation, the light/dark theme and tag filtering. The full text of every page is in the HTML.

Archive and syndication

• Archive — standalone writing plus news editions by month and date.
• RSS — all stories, newest first.
• /llms.txt — machine-readable summary for language models.
• Sources — the registry the pipeline collects from.
