Editorial standards

1. AI use is disclosed

Every edition is drafted with AI assistance and reviewed by a human editor before publishing. Concretely:

• An AI model drafts structure and prose from collected source material.
• A human editor reviews each item for accuracy, framing, citation correctness and tone, and may rewrite or reject any part of it.
• No item publishes unreviewed. The “AI-assisted drafts · editor-reviewed” line in the footer is accurate for every page on this site.
• AI is never used to generate quotes, invent sources, or synthesize a source that does not exist. If a claim has no source, the claim does not ship.

2. Primary sources only

• Every body paragraph cites at least one source, and every citation resolves to a real, publicly reachable URL in the item’s source list.
• Preference order: the original document (filing, paper, transcript, dataset, official statement), then direct reporting by a newsroom that did original work, then secondary aggregation — which is used only for discovery and never cited as the basis of a claim.
• Press releases and social posts are labelled as such where they are the source of record, and are never presented as independent confirmation.
• Cluster coverage exists so readers can compare how multiple outlets framed the same event. It is not an endorsement of any of them.

3. Confidence labels

• High — the core claim is documented by two or more independent primary sources, or by one authoritative source with no credible dispute.
• Medium — a single credible source, or sources that agree on the outline but not the details.
• Low — developing, contested, or based on a source with a track record we cannot yet assess. Treated as provisional and edited as the record firms up.

Confidence describes the state of the evidence, not the importance of the story. A low-confidence item can be the most consequential thing in the edition.

4. No advice

Nothing on Signal Daily is investment, legal, medical or professional advice. We do not publish recommendations, price targets, trading signals, dosing guidance or clinical advice. Items that touch on markets or health describe what happened and what is documented — not what anyone should do about it.

5. Corrections

• Factual errors are corrected in place, with the edition page updated and the correction noted in the item’s editor’s note.
• If an item cannot be corrected to standard, it is removed from the archive and the removal is noted on the edition page.
• Citation rot is treated as a defect: when a source link dies, we replace it with an archive copy or remove the claim it supported.

6. Independence, privacy and access

• No sponsored content, no affiliate links, no paid placements in the digest.
• No accounts, no login walls, no email capture, no analytics or advertising scripts.
• Outbound links carry rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" and open in a new tab.
• The only data stored in your browser is your theme and view preference, kept in localStorage on your device. It is never transmitted.

7. Scope

Four verticals: AI, bio & health, geopolitics & security, and markets & macro. An item is included when it is documented, material to a reader who follows the field, and adds information rather than repeating the previous day’s coverage.
